Join us at Alexia Urban Winery for our third Silent Reading Party and help us raise fund for the Greytown Festival of Christmas.
Unlike a book group which often involves awkward chat, this is an evening quietly reading in an inviting wine bar with others.
Bring along your book, purchase a beverage and some food, and enjoy an hour or more of uninterrupted reading time with like-minded souls.
You can come along as a group, but many people do come to Books at the Bar on their own - everyone is welcome. If you come along on your own, you can join a table with other independent readers, chat if you want to, or just get started for an extra long reading session. No judgement!
This Books at the Bar is a fundraiser for the Greytown Festival of Christmas. All ticket sales go directly to the Festival, and you can buy raffle tickets to further help our efforts. The prizes include:
A $100 voucher for Mrs Blackwell’s Village Bookshop
12 new or recently released books in a Mrs Blackwell’s Village Bookshop army green tote bag
Friday, March 7th at Alexia Urban Winery
Winery opens at 4:30pm - arrive early for food, wine and first dibs on seats!
Silent reading begins at 6:05pm, finishes 7:05pm
Raffle prizes drawn (winners must be present)
Winery closes at 8pm
Afterward, you can quietly slip out (we won’t judge), or stay and engage in some not-so-small talk with your fellow readers.
Sceptical? Read an unsolicited review/blog post about our previous event, thanks to Marisa King.
Tickets are required in advance, no door sales.
Food and wine are not included in your ticket.
