Bloody Minded: An Evening with Susie Ferguson

  • The Offering 65 Main Street Greytown, Wellington, 5712 New Zealand (map)

Presented by Featherston Booktown, as part of the Greytown Festival of Christmas.

Join Susie Ferguson, journalist and host of Saturday Morning on RNZ, for a discussion about her life and memoir, Bloody Minded

Early in her career, Susie was a war correspondent, the only woman among hundreds of soldiers. She was often one of the boys, hidden behind a flak jacket. Yet, beneath her tough exterior, she was battling excruciating pain from endometriosis, taking 15 painkillers a day to cope with the burning and stabbing sensations in her uterus. But Susie’s story is more than just physical pain—it's about surviving the harsh realities that many women face, including misogyny, discrimination, and the often dismissive attitudes of a healthcare system ill-equipped to address women's needs.

Don't miss this opportunity to hear from one of New Zealand's most respected journalists discuss the importance of resilience, self-advocacy, and finding the courage to share our stories.
